The Big Trip
On August 18, 2008, I quit my job. Three days later, I was in the car, traveling 9,000 miles in 30 days, seeing the country and looking for something I never found. The following is the journal I kept along the way.
Day 4: Some may never live, but the crazy never die
Day 5: Dirt Roads, Dead Ends & Dust
Day 6: As We Go Up, We Go Down
Day 12: The bluest skies you’ve ever seen in Seattle
Day 13: A little slice of heaven
Day 16: Where life’s such a groove
Day 19: To Live & Die (Laughing) In L.A.
Day 21: Somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert
Day 23: I know you’re gonna be grand
Day 24: By the time I get to Phoenix
Day 26: Gotta get out of this place
Day 30 and beyond: Gimme a break
